 HOLIDAY CHALLENGE

Room 18 has three challenges on over the school holidays: a reading, writing and math challenge.

The Reading Challenge - See how many books you can read over the school holidays and log into Literacy Pro to complete the quizzes. How many words can you read over the holidays? How many quizzes can you successfully complete? How much progress can you make?

The Writing Challenge - Well done if you chose to participate in the Holiday Writing Challenge. You should all have your special Writing Book to practise your skills. Choose between narratives and persuasive texts (free choice on the topics) and focus on your writing goals. You could even type out your work and glue it into the book. Practise your sizzling starts, punctuation, vocabulary and figurative language skills. Bring your books back on Day 1 and we'll go through the results.

The Mathematics Challenge - Measurement is the goal for the holidays. You all have a workbook on Measurement to complete, and if you do get all of the activities done, you could complete more measurement activities around your home. Cooking, gardening and cleaning are all great activities to learn measurement skills. Record any extra activities you do and bring in all of your work on Day 1 so that we can see who the Mathematics Champions are.

Good luck with your challenges!

Have a wonderful and safe holiday. See you all in Term 2!

 HARMONY DAY

We have had a great day celebrating Harmony Day. It was wonderful to see all students make an effort to come dressed in national dress. It was also fantastic to work with our Buddy Class, Room 9, with some art and craft activities.

HARMONY DAY

Harmony Day is coming! On Friday, March 26th, the students will dress up for Harmony Day. It is a day of respect and appreciation for everyone who calls Australia home. It's also a wonderful time to celebrate our cultural diversity at Wattle Grove. We have many students and staff from different backgrounds and it is important that we recognise and celebrate our differences. Diversity is our strength! So this Friday, we will all be dressed in cultural attire or in Harmony Day orange. Classes around the school will be discussing the importance of respecting other cultures and celebrating our multicultural country. Students will also have the chance to show off their traditional outfits at our Harmony Day parade! We'll also celebrate this special day with our buddy classes, doing crafts and other activities. It should be a wonderful day!
