 ANZAC DAY

To commemorate Anzac Day, Wattle Grove held a special ceremony in the morning. The Year 6 students presented poems, and we had a special visitor from the navy to address the school - Leading Seaman Irvine. Chirath and Monet laid a wreath with our buddy class representatives and many of the students sang in the choir. Later in the afternoon, the children assembled a model of different defence force machines. One group worked on helicopters and two other groups assembled two different types of ships.

 WELCOME BACK

Welcome back to Term 2. I hope you all had a wonderful holiday. Well done to all of the children who participated in the Holiday Challenges for Reading, Writing and Mathematics. It was great to see the fabulous work that came in on the first day back. Congratulations to our winners below - a job well done!

ANZAC Day - Just a reminder that this Friday will be our ANZAC Day ceremony. All children are encouraged to bring in some flowers or greenery on Thursday, so that they can contribute to the class wreath.

NAPLAN - NAPLAN will commence in Week 3 and run for a fortnight. All Year 5 students will be tested on their reading, writing, spelling, grammar and math skills. It is great to see a lot of children practising some of these skills as extra homework and then showing me in the morning. Keep it up, kids. As we always say, "Practise makes permanent!"
